Spaghetti

Sauce Pairing: Light tomato sauces and cream sauces
About Spaghetti
Spaghetti is so common, and so… Italian. It’s the literal Italian word we use with no English translation. Spaghetti means “lengths of cord” in Italian, and it’s the best-known pasta shape. It was invented in the 12th century in Palermo, Sicilia, and goes best with light tomato sauces and cream sauces. Very simple. In Italy, a few spaghetti favorites are “aglio, olio e peperoncino” (garlic, oil and chili); “spaghetti alla carbonara” with pancetta and eggs; and “spaghetti alla puttanesca” with olives and capers. It is certainly not used in pasta salads! Try these very simple spaghetti recipes: Spaghetti with Tri-Color Sauce or Pasta with Lemon, Capers, Garlic and Arugula
